"Traditions" are the lifeblood of the holidays. They make the season warm and memorable, that's why we love them! I'm always looking for a way to bring that holiday spirit into everyday. Monthly traditions remind us that the warmth of the holiday season can be shared throughout the year. Celebrations and reminders of each season's special place in our hearts bring a brightness that feels of-the-moment, while still recalling the sensational holiday season itself.
January always feels like a great time to start anew, and really lean into the new year. While a fresh start can be had at any time, the pull in January to reset is the strongest. Establishing traditions for January is easy and brings the holiday season into the new year.
January Traditions to Start and Continue:
Pack away holiday decorations to make space for the light and air of the new year.
Donate any decorations that haven’t been used in two years.
Go through clothing items, especially anything that is similar to gifts you’ve received. Donate pieces you haven’t worn this year that make easy swaps for the upgrades you've just been gifted.
Write thank you cards for gifts I’ve received. This makes the feeling of receiving the gift last longer and extends the gratitude a little longer.
If you kept up with the gifting spreadsheet, make sure it's up to date. If not, jot down the gifts you gave this year--what worked and what didn't
January traditions are all about resetting for the new year. Get in the spirit of traditions by reframing what you have to do, with what you get to this month. Having gratitude for the decorations you have, and getting to store them for another year of joy; and sharing that joy by donating any unused ornaments is something we GET to do!

very happy merry
